We built both of these chassis. I still like the body on the Desperado. One of my favorite Jeep bodies.

That one reappeared this year in XD class and was called Mr. Quick. It had an awesome paint job on it.

Mike i found Carl's old body. Tried to buy it! But the guy doesnt want to sell! Was hoping to put that on my new car. I wonder what it would take to build one like it? Mallow

David, we didn't build that body, but our friend Mike Woodrey did. In the other set of pictures that "Twister" car was also a Mike Woodrey body and one of Mike's old cars. But I liked Carl's the best. I actually hand drew the body and then Mike kinda built it to match my drawing. He owns a stainless steel fabrication shop and had all the right tools to build something like that. I think I heard that the car couldn't be bought either.

It wouldn't be incredibly difficult, but just some time and patience. The other body that is nice is the one that Phillip Moser should still have. Mike Chockla that we originally built that car for made that body himself too.

Yes Philip "MO" still has that body. But in the last couple of years has only ran it as a altered. Yeah that old body was lost and supposibly cut up after the guy that bought it got divorce. But i tracked that guy down and he got it touch with the person that bought from him. He was going to go asphalt racing but now is supposed to race at Big River. The body is actually on a different chassis than the one you guys built "Travis Shinn has that chassis with a Bud Body on it" Time will tell!
Maybe he might sell at a later date? Does Mike still do that kind fabrication?

We met the guy with the green Jeep at the EC4WDA 35th anniversary race. I think his name is Kevin Smith. Justin, Rhodus and I did our best job getting him all tore up while watching the obstacle course. His wife was about 9 months pregnant. We haven't seen him since.

No, Carl's body was probably the last one he did. I think 1991 or 92 was his last year racing. His shop is just a few miles from Gravelrama though.
